SPICES UP HER WARDROBE FOR NEW CHALLENGE

Going from Sporty to spangly, Melanie Chisholm has traded in her tracksuits and trainers for a whole lot of glitz after signing up to take part in US TV series Dancing With the Stars.

The singer (left and below) is following in the footsteps of her Spice Girls bandmate Melanie Brown, who was runner-up in 2012, but what she really, really wants is to take home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.

“I’m so excited,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’ve got a long way to go but I’m here for the challenge.” Partnering professional dancer Gleb Savchenko (right), Melanie has already proven she’s no Wannabe, impressing the judges with her first routine last week – a cha cha to the band’s 1996 hit. She later thanked fans for “all your love and support”, adding: “I was so nervous… and it got me through.”

This wasn’t 47-yearold Melanie’s only performance over the past few weeks. Before heading Stateside, she was one of the headline acts at the Gone Wild festival in Exeter, and then the Victorious event in Portsmouth. “Best feeling in the world to be back on stage,” she said.
