THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE FOOTBALL FOCUS AS HE TEAMS UP WITH STARS TO SUPPORT FAN POWER

As president of the Football Association, the Duke of Cambridge is one of the biggest supporters of all things to do with the beautiful game.

But deep in his heart, there’s one team that always has his backing – his beloved Aston Villa – and last week, he joined the 3,000 loyal away fans (left) watching them take on Chelsea in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

While he could not hide his sorrow as Villa lost 3-4 on penalties, the Duke was on winning form the next day to visit non-league side Dulwich Hamlet FC. Calling supporters the “heart and soul” of a club, he talked about the future of football with MP Tracy Crouch, chair of a fan-led review into the game, and chatted (right) with former England star Peter Crouch and Madi Parsonson, one of the stars of the Dulwich women’s squad.
