SPOT THE LEOPARDS IN LOVE

Snow leopards Laila and Yarko are the most romantic residents of The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent. While the animals tend to be solitary during the day, after dark they get much more affectionate and every night can be found cuddling and spooning in their den.

After CCTV footage of the loving leopards’ snuggles was posted online, it amassed tens of thousands of views and the pair have stolen the hearts of the nation – including The Great British Bake Off judge and Kent resident Paul Hollywood, who became a sanctuary ambassador earlier this year. He reposted the video to Instagram, writing: “Laila and Yarko getting very cuddly… spooning Snow Leopards, too cute.”

The duo are part of the sanctuary’ s breeding programme to “conserve and protect the genetic bloodline of snow leopards in captivity”. Visit thebigcatsanctuary.org.
