YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words: “You have cancer.” They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need so no young person faces cancer alone. If you are able, we would like to urge you to support the hello! £ 10 could help provide expert information and answers for a young person whose world has just been turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis. £20 could help one of the trust’s youth support co-ordinators be there to give a young person the extra help they need with whatever is on their mind. £25 could pay for one hour of a youth support co-ordinator’ s time so a young person with cancer can talk and get support when their anxiety and isolation feel overwhelming. £30 could pay for an hour of care from one of the Teenage Cancer Trust’s expert nurses, who have worked tirelessly throughout the year to support young people through their cancer treatment – often when Covid- 19
restrictions still mean the youngster’s parents can’t be there. £100 could go towards all the things that help make a Teenage Cancer Trust unit feel like home, not a hospital, such as TVs, sofas, pool tables and space to hang out and chat. OR £100 could go towards an activity budget for the youth support co-ordinators – whether virtually or in person, they bring young people with cancer together to make friends, support each other and enjoy a much-needed bit of normality away from treatment.
