Theatre festivities

-

THE Palace Theatre at Paignton is pulling out all the stops for the festive season, with pantomime, song, slapstick and a play about the murder of Santa Claus.

Who Killed Santa Claus? runs from November 28 to December 1. It is a seasonal thriller set in the fast and frenzied world of television with colourful characters and petty jealousies.

The emotions of the characters who work behind the scenes build into simmering hatred that inevitably leads to a murder. But who did kill Santa Claus?

There is more familiar festive entertainment with Santa’s New Sleigh on December 1 and 2, in which Sprocket and Dibs have a problem.

Christmas is fast approaching and Santa’s Sleigh is nowhere to be found. Will Sprocket and Dibs be able to create a new sleigh in time or will Christmas be cancelled?

Saturday December 8 brings a Winter Concert with the annual Wren Music Christmas extravaganza.

Groups performing are the Folk Orchestra of Torbay, Torbay Folk Choir, Singing for Wellness Choir and Acorn Choir – led by Jon Dyer, Bella Lilley and Paul Wilson.

Christmas at the Ritz promises music from the Golden Age of Hollywood on December 12 and 13, while Paignton’s much-loved panto this year will be Mother Goose from December 20 to January 2.

On January 6, Wonder Productions complete their six-week national tour by bringing Jack and the Beanstalk to the Palace Theatre.
