THE official opening of Torbay’s newest play park in Paignton has been celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Families at one of Paignton’s latest developments of new homes can enjoy a new play park for local children.

Award-winning homebuilder Cavanna Homes has officially opened the Fusion Play Park for children and local residents at their development of new homes located off Brixham Road in Paignton.

Kevin Foster MP was joined by vice-chairman of Torbay Council, Cllr Jane Barnby, Steve Ward from Public Open Space, and Cavanna Homes’ managing director Keith Miller and site manager Craig Oldham, for the event at Fusion.

Kevin Foster said: “The Fusion play park is a brilliant addition to Cavanna Homes’ development of new homes in Paignton, providing children in the area with a safe place to play.

“It was a pleasure to officially open the play park, which I hope will bring lots of joy to the local children and their families”.

With a selection of play equipment from swings, climb- ing frames and even a zip wire, local families are being invited to visit the park located at the heart of Fusion which is surrounded by greenery, providing a safe and enjoyable place for children to play and explore close to their homes.

Craig Oldham, Site Manager at Fusion, said: “Our aim was to create a play park in a safe environment so the children at Fusion had somewhere to play and socialise with others, and we believe we have done just that.

“Throughout the process we have been regularly asked by excited children and their parents about when the play park will be finished, so we hope that they are pleased with the end result”.

Cavanna Homes are committed to supporting all the local communities in which they build and regularly make contributions to the development of local schools, cycle routes and footpaths.

As well as the Fusion Play Park, Cavanna Homes has also provided funding for the local primary school and secured planning permission within the development to include a local store, doctors surgery and pharmaceutical unit, creating more jobs within the area.
