Sparkling success of Rainbow Ball

HAVING sold 400 tickets by the end of July, The Rainbow Ball committee are celebratin­g once again.

The charity event being held at The Riviera Centre on December 1, World Aids Day, has secured sponsorshi­p from local businesses.

The 2018 ball is raising funds for two causes - the nationwide Elton John Aids Foundation and the bay's own Rowcroft Hospice.

The Rainbow Ball, which began life in the 1990s, was successful­ly brought back into existence last year, raising more than £10,000. With a three-course dinner including cabaret from headline act La Voix, Trixi Tassels, local band Harbour and surprise acts, the organ- isers promise a night like no other.

Chairman Rob Elford said “Following the huge success of last year’s event we decided to hold the Ball again - and having sold out in only 6 weeks we were overwhelme­d at the response.

“In addition, this year we have secured sponsorshi­p from a number of local businesses covering all of Superinten­dent Registrar at Chelsea Registry Office. He has gathered a superb cast including some well known local faces Richard Bearne, John Pierce, Laura Rugg, Sarah Caplan and Sean Caunter among others.

“After Dinner tickets have now been released which include all the evening’s entertainm­ent from 9pm at £25 per person.”
