Little Mia blessed to be aboard lifeboat

A SPECIAL ‘perk’ of being part of a RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew saw the grand-daughter of the second coxswain baptised on board the RNLI Torbay lifeboat.

Mia was baptised aboard the RNLI Torbay all-weather lifeboat Alec & Christina Dykes on her first birthday. The service was led by the Reverend Chris Malkinson and attended by close family and friends. Mia’s ceremony aboard the lifeboat was also attended by the RNLI Torbay Second Coxswain Richard Fowler – who also happens to be her grandad. Mr Malkinson used the specially-blessed upturned ship’s bell as a font on both occasions!
