Teams clean up coastline

-

NAILS, burned plastic and rubber were taken off Fairy Cove at Paignton after a weekend beach clean.

Torbay MP Kevin Foster was part of the clean-up crew taking to the popular beach as part of a West Country initiative.

South West Conservatives organised the Big Beach Clean on Saturday and Sunday.

Other locations included South Milton Sands and Teignmouth Point also on the list for the party.

Plastic bottles, glass jars and pieces of wood were also collected at Fairy cove.

Environment Secretary Michael Gove said: “The South West has some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere and it’s vital we protect them for future generations and ensure our great coastline and wildlife are not damaged by plastic waste and other litter.”
