Juniors enjoy Torbay Triathlon bonanza

Bob Small also won the MV 60+ category which was a fine effort. There were 132 finishers.

Gavin Parrott & Neil Skinner entered the 10k race also run at Killerton. Gavin finished 24th in a time of 53.45 and Neil crossed the line in 28th position with a respectabl­e time of 54:03.

SOUTH DEVON ATHLETIC CLUB

Darren Francis came away with a win at the Roundshaw Downs parkrun in Croydon with a personal best of 18mins 47secs.

TORBAY ATHLETIC CLUB

Torbay Athletic Club’s Jo Loten ran in the Killerton Trail half marathon.

Jo's time was 2hrs 03mins 01secs finishing fourth in her age category and eighth lady overall.

David Gow Smith took on the Pure Trail Dartmoor Volcano race from Scorriton, a 10.25-mile trail race with a 400 metre ascent to top of Ryders Hill, and back across the moor in superb conditions.

David finished sixth out of 130 finishers and first MV60 – and first MV50 – in a time of 1:28.02)

Mark Bruce ran the Flying Fox Running Night Jar – a nine-mile and five-mile off road race in darkness over the Peddlebed Heaths on Woodbury Common, started and ended in Bicton Arena.

Mark ran with Laura Hawker in her first ever night race, and together they finished the five-miler in a time of 51.41.

DAWLISH COASTERS

Two Dawlish Coasters took part in the Jolly’s Running Cream Tea Caper at double locks in Exeter.

Pat Clatworthy completed a total of four laps while Pam Bunday completed one lap.

All runners were treated to a cream tea along with their medal and T-shirt.

RIVIERA RACERS

For the English Half Marathon, Julie Kean journeyed up to Warrington to compete in the prestigiou­s race weekend.

First race for Julie was the Friday night 5k, a popular start to the weekend of races, and Julie completed this in 29mins 96secs in 203rd.

Saturday was the main event and Julie was 1597th with a great time of 2:08.48.

To end the festival of running Julie completed the golden mile.

At Kilerton, Paul Birdsall was 51st in 58.15 with Jessica Perriss in 67th in 59.29 and Steve Carr 84th 1:01. 09.
