Boat breaks free in harbour

COASTGUARDS were called to Paignton Harbour on Sunday morning after a boat broke free from its moorings and smashed against the harbour wall.

Torbay Coastguard officers were joined by the Tor Bay Harbour Authority and Beaches team.

The empty boat had broken free in the easterly winds and had been pushed into the wall by the Harbour Light slipway.

The contents of the boat were in the water, but there were no fuel leaks and the harbour team recovered the boat and its contents.
