Teen hurt in fall at popular climbing spot
A TEENAGER was airlifted to hospital after suffering multiple injuries in a fall from rocks at a South Devon beauty spot on Sunday.
The 13-year-old girl fell at Chudleigh Rocks and was airlifted to hospital in Bristol after suffering serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. Volunteers from the Ashburton Dartmoor Search and Rescue organisation said the girl had fallen from “a substantial height” at the rocks which are popular with climbers. One of the volunteers said: “The casualty was incredibly lucky to have survived the fall. The rock is close to a number of small trees and we think it was the trees that broke the fall.”
