Rugby club tables plan for improvement
PLANS to significantly improve the facilities at the home of Dartmouth Rugby Club have been revealed.
A new covered standing terrace, dugouts, fencing and floodlights will be built at Norton Playing Fields if plans submitted to South Hams District Council are approved.
The Riversiders, who play in the Tribute Devon Division 1, want improved training and spectator facilities at their home ground in Wessex Way.
The scheme involves the addition of a covered spectator area and dugouts, protective fencing, improved pedestrian access and improvements to the floodlighting.
They added: “The plans provide a significant improvement to the playing and training facilities for Dartmouth Rugby Football Club and other users of this facility. There has been a significant increase in sporting participation in Dartmouth, with recent improvements to sporting facilities, such as the swimming pool, and these proposals seek to capitalise on this momentum.”
