Paying price of too many concession­s

THE issue of bus services 60 and 65 being cut due to their losing money (HEX, November 14) should raise the question as to why, considerin­g that plenty of people claim to need them.

The real problem arises from the fact that as many as nine out of 10 passengers do not pay a fare but instead use their Concession­ary Pass.

The bus companies are in turn not paid enough by the council/government to cover their running costs.

There are two seemingly obvious solutions to this.
