Exploring final frontier from inside classroom

STARS in the night sky came into the classroom at a Torquay School.

Youngsters at All Saints Babbacombe CofE Primary School had a visit from the Space Odyssey dome to inspire pupils in their learning about the solar system and other space topics. Reception, Year 5 and Year 6 at the school a chance to visit the planetariu­m which gives a unique look into the fascinatin­g subject learning about astronauts, rockets planets and stars.

Head teacher Richard Nutbeam said: “Our Reception, Year 5 and Year 6 children had the opportunit­y to visit the Space Odyssey Dome.

“The children learnt about our solar system, planets, Timothy Peake, rocket launches and evolution.

“It was a fantastic opportunit­y for the children to engage in their learning outside the classroom.

“Experience­s, such as the space dome, allow the school to enrich the children’s curriculum, creating lasting memories that will help them develop a love for their learning.”
