Exploring final frontier from inside classroom
STARS in the night sky came into the classroom at a Torquay School.
Youngsters at All Saints Babbacombe CofE Primary School had a visit from the Space Odyssey dome to inspire pupils in their learning about the solar system and other space topics. Reception, Year 5 and Year 6 at the school a chance to visit the planetarium which gives a unique look into the fascinating subject learning about astronauts, rockets planets and stars.
Head teacher Richard Nutbeam said: “Our Reception, Year 5 and Year 6 children had the opportunity to visit the Space Odyssey Dome.
“The children learnt about our solar system, planets, Timothy Peake, rocket launches and evolution.
“It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to engage in their learning outside the classroom.
“Experiences, such as the space dome, allow the school to enrich the children’s curriculum, creating lasting memories that will help them develop a love for their learning.”
