Standard 3MT makes progress at Severn Valley

PARTS continue to be made for new-build BR 3MT No. 82045 at the Severn Valley Railway.

Staff at Bridgnorth have been machining the injectors and the water control valves, while progress with the firebox is ongoing.

Stephenson Engineerin­g (SE) has completed its work on both valve spindles and both crosshead arms which connect the union link to the crosshead.

SE has also made the tapered washers for the ends of the transverse stays which protrude through the outer firebox.
