- By Cedric Johns

THE Railway Touring Company got off to a cracking start with six departures fully booked, and supported by active waiting lists.

The trains were two ‘Cumbrian Mountain Express’ trips on May 22 and June 26, a ‘Scarborough Flyer’ on June 5, the ‘Cotswold Venturer’ on June 12, the ‘White Rose’ from King’s Cross to York on June 19, and the ‘Edinburgh Flyer’ running north over the border on the same day.

Seats remain available for the ‘Bournemouth Express’, departing Waterloo behind No. 35018 British India Line on July 3.

The Bulleid is also down to haul the ‘End of Southern Steam’ anniversary trip to Yeovil Junction and Weymouth on July 9.

On arrival at Yeovil, the 'Merchant' goes inside the Railway Centre’s yard for turning and servicing, the train continuing to Weymouth diesel-hauled.

The return journey to London runs via Bournemouth, Southampton and Basingstoke.
