Railcar and platform lamp head the cast in Yorkshire sale
AN O-gauge Sentinel steam railcar made by GP Models of Lincoln was the top seller in a sale of general railwayana and models held by Spicers of Old Goole, East Yorkshire, on May 14, with a realisation of £450.
Railwayana was headed by a platform lamp from Hemingbrough which went for £320 and came with its original name glass. The station was opened as Cliff by the Hull & Selby Railway in July 1840, renamed in September 1874, and closed to goods in May 1964 and passengers in November 1967. Prices exclude buyer's premium of 20% (inc VAT).
Among other railwayana in the live online, telephone and commission auction were carriage prints, signs, posters, signalling equipment, wagon and shed plates, and a large selection of handlamps.
