The Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway has carried off its second national accolade this year.
As reported in issue 280, it won the Heritage Railway Association (Large Groups) Award 2021 for its Top Wheel installation, and has now been awarded the Transport Trust's coveted Red Wheel award for its unique water-powered nature. The Red Wheel was presented by trust chairman Stuart Wilkinson and unveiled by Coun Andrea Davis, Exmoor National Park deputy chairman and cabinet member for climate change, environment and transport, pictured here with chief engineer Ashley Clarke, at a ceremony on June 9.
