Photography workshops to return at Moorsline
PHOTOGRAPHERS are being invited to take part in a series of North Yorkshire Moors Railway workshops – which have returned after last year's lockdown cancellation.
Led by professional photographer, author and teacher John Potter, the one-day workshops are £125 per person and offered at a beginner or intermediate level, ensuring suitability for all skill sets and experience.
Participants will learn how to use a digital camera more creatively and will travel on the heritage railway, visiting key milestones and locations for a variety of photography opportunities, including Pickering and Goathland station. The sessions also include a walk across the moor to a viewing location for photographing trains passing through Darnholm, and working in the Learning Centre. There will be ample opportunity to photograph trains and NYMR characters.
Laura Strangeway, NYMR's head of business development, said: “Last year we were so disappointed that due to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns our photography workshops were unable to go ahead, which is why, with enhanced social distancing and proper measures in place, we're excited to launch these popular courses once again.
“Thanks to our intimate smaller classes of up to eight participants, the courses are tailored to the needs and desires of the budding photographers, allowing enough time and attention to be given to each person.
“After all, what better way to enhance your skills than with the surroundings of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors Railway in front of your lens?”
In line with official government guidelines, the courses have been adapted taking into account limited capacity and social distancing.
Attendees are also required to wear a facemask during the workshops.
This course is suitable only for adults aged 18 years and over, and the fee includes train travel and refreshments.
