GNR carriage is back at Tanfield

GNR carriage No. 1441 (TR No. 6) has returned to the Tanfield Railway following its renovation at Stanegate Restorations in Haltwhistle.

No. 1441’s compartments have been reinstated, returning it to its original design.

In addition to fresh paintwork, new seats have been fitted and doors have been replaced or repaired as required.

It will enter service shortly. The renovation was made possible thanks to the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.
