Saphos Trains to run steam tour from Carnforth to the Severn Valley Railway
SAPHOS Trains is to run a tour from Carnforth to the Severn Valley Railway on Wednesday, July 21.
Picking up at Carnforth, Lancaster, Preston, Wigan North Western, Warrington Bank Quay, Hartford, Crewe and Shrewsbury, the ‘Severn Valley Enterprise' heads to Kidderminster and over the heritage line to Bridgnorth.
Following a three-hour break, the return leg takes in the 1-in-45 climb of Old Hill Bank.
The trip is steam hauled from Crewe by either LMS 4-6-0 No. 46100 Royal Scot, West Country Pacific No. 34046
Braunton, or LMS ‘Black Five' No. 45231
