LNER Coach Association gets first stock into its new shed

-

AS a follow-up to the News item in issue 280 on the great strides the LNER Coach Association has made in the acquisition of new facilities, these recent pictures highlight its new facilities at Kirby Misperton on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and at Embsay on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.

As anyone with knowledge of and interest in the preservation of railway coaches will know, the need for and the availability of undercover lock-up facilities will always be paramount to the success of any restoration or conservation project.

This third 500m extension to the Embsay carriage shed is nearly finished, with completion expected about mid-year. The LNERCA has part-funded this extension, into which it plans to move two vehicles within the next two to three months.

Donations towards the completion and support of both these new facility initiatives are invited – with the encouragement of an anonymous donor who will generously match pound for pound any donations.

LNERCA wishes to apologise for its error in the bank sort code as published in issue 280. The correct LNERCA sort code is 30-63-64 for Account No. 27410460 and the matched funding date will now be extended another month.
