Second Sentinel arrives at Wallingford

-

TWO Sentinel steam locomotives are now at the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway, with the arrival of No. 11 from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre.

The former Tottenham gasworks locomotive, Works No. 9366 of 1945, joins ex-GWR example No. 12, Works No. 6515 of 1926, which was also previously based at Quainton Road. Both are owned by Keith Lobley.

Since its arrival, No. 11 has passed its boiler inspection, but no decision has been taken as to how long it will stay on the line.

The CWR hosted another industrial locomotive for its Wallingford at War 1940s weekend on October 2/3, in the form of Hunslet 0-6-0ST No. 1873 of 1937 Jessie from the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway.
