Tour the Severn Valley’s revamped engine shed and diesel depot for free

-

WITH all the upgrade works at Bridgnorth Shed completed, the opportunity has arisen for the Seven Valley Railway to open its doors and give a glimpse behind the scenes with tours to areas that are normally out of bounds to the general public.

Members of the SVR team will be on hand to guide visitors around Bridgnorth Shed and boiler shop and also the award-winning Kidderminster Diesel Depot during the Heritage Open Days on September 10/11.

At Bridgnorth, the engineering works, the boiler shop and the new workshop will be open following completion of the Roof and Crane Project. Recentlyrestored GWR 4-6-0 No. 4930 Hagley Hall will be on display.

It will be possible at the Kidderminster depot to see the pit and an overhead crane, as well as various locomotives undergoing works.

All tours are free and will take about an hour. Places must be booked in advance at www.tinyurl. com/svropendays. A £25 service will be operating between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.
