Sir Keith Park’s Devon show

SOUTHERN Locomotive Ltd’s 4-6-2 Bulleid Pacific No. 34053 Sir Keith Park was set to appear at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, which took place between August 25 and August 29, in a joint venture between SLL and haulage firm Allelys.

Having recently had superheaters and other components removed at Tunbridge Wells West on the Spa Valley, where the Bulleid is currently based, it was planned for the front half to depart on a lorry and travel via the five-day show to appear as a heavy haulage load for the road engines.

It then continued on to the Swanage Railway, where it now awaits the departure of Manston from Herston works, with which it will swap places to allow the overhaul to continue.
