Dining trains are back on the Severn Valley

-

AFTER an absence of more than two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on-train dining returned to the Severn Valley Railway on August 3.

Departing from Kidderminster station on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday lunchtimes, a bigger-than-ever choice of services are on offer, with a first-class menu created by the railway’s in-house executive head chef Lucy Kelly on board the luxuriously appointed 1930s dining carriage.

“I’ve focused the three-course menu very much on local and regional produce,” she said. “I’m proud to present this handcrafted menu and to be showcasing it in such a unique setting on the railway.”

Diners are served with a starter and main course along the 16-mile route to Bridgnorth, where there is a short stopover with time to explore. Desserts and coffee will be served during the return journey. The SVR also offers on-train afternoon teas.
