Miniature line reopens two months after vandal attack
BOLTON’S Moss Bank Park Miniature Railway has reopened to the public two months after a vandal attack.
About £20,000 worth of damage was caused in the incident, carried out by around10 youngsters on June 3. The mile-long track was reduced to 20ft. It occurred shortly after the railway started running following Covid-19 lockdowns.
A national appeal was launched for funds to repair the damage, and several groups contributed. Southport Model Engineering Club, for example, held a special fundraising day and collected £370.
Temporary track has been used to restart services.
Police were still investigating the vandalism incident.
