Branch Line Society’s autumnal trip to seaside at Whitby

THE Whitby Endeavour Tour, hosted by the Branch Line Society, is planned for Saturday, October 22, with Class 50 No. 50008 Thunderer and a Loram Class 37 in top-and-tail formation.

The tour will start from Derby and head via Chesterfield, Sheffield, and Doncaster to York, before picking up the Middlesborough to Battersby line.

There will be a photographic stop at Battersby before heading to Grosmont and Whitby. Passengers will have the option of a 90-minute break in Whitby or, having alighted at Grosmont, a visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway before the return trip to Derby.
