After a spring and summer
on hire in England, with appearances at the Battlefield Line, Spa Valley and West Somerset Railways, Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T No. 419 worked its first scheduled passenger services back at its Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway home on September 24. After a slow run along the foreshore and round the ‘S’ curves on the approach to Kinneil, No. 419 is seen after departing from Kinneil with the 12.15pm from Bo’ness to Manuel, to soon start the climb up to Birkhill.
