Two more 1940s events are cancelled over Ukraine war
THE North Yorkshire Moors Railway cancelled its popular 1940s weekend on October 15/16 due to sensitivity over the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Proceeds from ticket sales over the same weekend were instead being donated to the British Red Cross’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
The decision follows that of the Avon Valley Railway, which scrapped its September 24/5 1940s weekend for a similar reason.
