Support the Friends

The Friends of the Great Central Main Line championed the Bridge 236 replacement project and fundraising, and the David Clarke Railway Trust managed the money, claiming Gift Aid on behalf of donations. The GCR placed the order in April to beat rapidly rising costs. Andy Fillingham, of the Friends, said: “We are grateful to everyone who’s supported this project with funding but we are still looking for a few thousand pounds to finish the job and we hope the inspiring progress might encourage others to donate, even in these difficult economic times. This is the part of the project where every pound matters.”
