Fine dining Falcon takes off
Buntingford gains a new 28-cover finedining restaurant this month (October) with the opening of the Falcon. Set in a Grade II listed building formerly housing the Buntingford Kitchen, it is the dreamchild of chef Kieren Steinborn-Busse, from Berkshire, and his wife Natasha, who grew up in Harpenden.
Kieren (right), who trained under Marco Pierre White and Alain Ducasse, says the restaurant will reflect his love of British comfort food and rustic recipes based around seasonal, local produce.
‘We want to provide a great local dining destination where people can interact, dine, drink and relax’, said Kieren. ‘We strongly believe the greatest pleasure in life is great food.’
The Falcon will be open for lunch and dinner from Thursday to Saturday and on Sunday for an extended lunch service. The restored building also features two private dining rooms seating eight to 10.
Selections from the menu include roast and confit Gressingham duck with dill glazed carrots; and cured Var salmon, salmon rillettes, pickled cucumber and chervil and melba toast.
