Hertfordshire Life - - CONTENTS -

There can be few more emotive words than, ‘There is no greater love than this, that someone should lay down their life for their friends’.

In this instance they were spoken by the Rev Chris Briggs, as the introduction to Haileybury’s parade service to mark the centenary of the signing of the Armistice. Starting at this service and continuing until Armistice Day, the names of the 740 former Haileybury pupils and staff who died in the First World War will be recited.

The Last Post and Reveille were performed beautifully by lower school pupil, Ruby Spavin. It was a very moving day.
