The University of Hertfordshire has been ranked ‘gold’ for its teaching. The Teaching Excellence Framework, a government initiative that assesses higher education, awarded the top grade, taking the university up from silver last year. The award is valid for three years.

University vice-chancellor Professor Quintin McKellar said the award recognises students’ ‘excellent progression rates to employment and that students from all backgrounds achieve consistently outstanding outcomes’. He added that the success is testament to his colleagues’ ccommitment

‘to transform our students’ lives through expert teaching and a challenging, inclusive curriculum.’
