Gardening and Planting by the Moon 2019

Nick Kollerstrom W Foulsham & Co, £8.99

Country folk – and repeat buyers of this book which has been published annually for over 30 years – know that planning their horticulture in harmony with the rhythms of the moon produces better crops. They get higher yields and better flavour in vegetables, while flowers produce stronger displays and heightened colour.

This guide computes everything you need to know about the daily influence of the moon and the planets and has a 15-month daily calendar. The gardeners at RHS Wisley have proved the benefits of the lunar effect under controlled research conditions.

An interesting book to try out the techniques in your own garden. I am definitely having a go in my own garden next year!
