Richard Allan was a major name in the explosion of pattern and colour that defined the art and fashion of London in the 1960s. Worn by countless celebrities, his printed silk scarves were iconic, and are still highly collectable today.
In 2014 Richard’s daughter Cate began tracking down her father’s designs; recreating his archive, scarf by scarf. She also began reworking the colours, melding his work with hers to give a fresh, contemporary feel. Now, she has relaunched the business as Richard Allan London, offering both new scarves and a brilliant collection of framed limited edition art prints. The collection offers six original archive designs from the 1960s and 70s, each available in three of Cate Allan’s new colourways. From £750 at richardallanlondon.co.uk
