After his playing days Neil then went into coaching working full time for two years at Leicester City Academy before joining Woking as assistant manager, moving on to Portsmouth Academy for two seasons before coming back home.

Since joining Leicester Road, Neil has headed the development structure of the club and now has more than 80 players signed to the club.

Commercial manager, Mr Christopher Thompson hailed the new era for the club. He said: “It’s great we now have first team football back at the ground and that we have been fully accepted by the FA at level 7.

“We have been welcomed by the Midland Football League for the 2014/15 season and will be playing in division 2.

“It will be great to welcome back some old faces at the ground, and hopefully as Leicester are playing away on Saturday we are hoping we may attract some extra/new supporters to support our team on the first game we play at our home ground.

“We have many sponsorship packages available, and would like to thank local company - The Window Broker for sponsoring our first ever home game.”

Leicester Road’s first home game is quickly followed by their second 48 hours later on Bank Holiday Monday against Droitwich Spa which also kicks off at 3pm.

Entrance to the ground will be £4 for adults and £3 for concessions and any accompanied children under the age of 16 will be free.
