Beauty star bids to top the charts

A BEAUTY queen from Hinckley is hoping to top the Christmas charts with a new charity single.
Rheo Parnell is one of the youngest competitors vying for the Miss England 2016 crown in July.
But the 17-year-old also has ambitious plans for chart topping glory.
The talented songwriter is in the process of recording her latest track, Our World, and hopes to propel the song to the top of charts in time for Christmas.
All money raised will be donated to Miss England’s charity partner Beauty with a Purpose, which supports deprived children across the globe.
Rheo, who is the youngest ever winner of Miss Coventry and Warwickshire, said: “The lyrics of this song really touched me as it outlines the true ethos of the Miss England and Miss World contests - we are all part of a team work- ing towards a united goal.
“The song, which is an original, talks about the damaging effects of humanity on the world we live in.
“It is our world, and we have only one. We should all be aware of our place in it, and work together to make it the best place we can, it is our responsibility.”
Her Rugby-based record label, Big Help Management Academy, will be helping Rheo produce a master version of the sin- gle, which is available on Youtube now.
Plans are also in place to produce a music video starring current pageant stars.
The teenager, who is studying music and English literature at an arts school in Birmingham, is keen to challenge the stereotypes attached to beauty pageants.
She said: “The competition is so far removed from the stereotypical ‘bathing suited beauties” of the past.
“We are strong, independent women, practicing a freedom of choice to enter the competition, and to express ourselves.
“We do not conform to a particular type, shape or colour - we are encouraged to be confident individuals, nothing more, nothing less.”
