Spain and Greece among new destinations at region’s airport
THERE is even great choice of destinations for holidaymakers looking to fly on a budget from the region’s airport.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are launching two new routes from East Midlands Airport - Costa de Almeria in Spain and Halkidiki in Greece. Flights will start next May.
This further expands its biggest ever flights and vacation programme for summer 2017, with 35 holiday hotspots.
These new additions to the summer programme come on top of introduction of a seventh aircraft, more flights and four more new destinations, Costa Brava (Girona), Naples, Paris and Split, announced last month.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2. com and Jet2holidays, said: “Our biggest ever summer programme has just got even bigger with the addition of these two brand new destinations.”
Andy Cliffe, managing director of East Midlands Airport, said: “The new Jet2. com flights to Costa de Almeria in Spain and Halkidiki in Greece will give local families even more choice of great summer and winter-sun holidays from 2017. It will also provide the region’s first connections to the many family friendly resorts of Costa de Almeria.
“Over the last seven years Jet2.com’s operation has gone from strength to strength at East Midlands Airport and we’re delighted that they are flying to even more new destinations as of next year.”
