Two wounded in knife incident

23-year-old woman has been charged with five offences

TWO people suffered knife injuries in a Hinckley street following an incident at the weekend.

A 51-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were both injured following an incident in Tudor Road on Saturday.

Leicesters­hire Police were called at 6.40pm and cordoned off the area while investigat­ions were carried out.

The victim’s injuries have been described as “not life-threatenin­g”.

A 23-year-old woman has been charged with four offences following the incident.

Leah Woodward, of Edward Street, Hinckley, has been charged with two counts of section 18 wounding, one count of robbery, and one count of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

She was also charged with attempted robbery following a sep- arate incident in Stockwell Head at 6.15pm the same day.

Woodward appeared at Leicester Magistrate­s’ Court on Monday and has been remanded into custody.

A spokeswoma­n for Leicesters­hire Police said: “A 23-year-old woman has been charged with five offences after a robbery in Tudor Road, Hinckley, on Saturday night.

“Leah Woodward, of Edward Street, Hinckley, has been charged with two counts of section 18 wounding, one count of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and one count of being in possession of an offensive weapon.

“The attempted robbery charge relates to an incident in Stockwell Head.

“In a separate incident, a 51-yearold woman was wounded after a robbery in Tudor Road.

“Woodward appeared at Leicester Magistrate­s’ Court on Monday morning and has been remanded into custody.”
