Teen is arrested after assault reports at Fosse Park

POLICE have received reports of a teenage boy touching himself and others inappropriately at Leicester’s Fosse Park.

Witnesses are being sought to the incidents which happened on Monday evening.

A woman reported to security guards that a teenage boy was following her while touching himself inappropriately.

Two further reports were received of a teenage boy assaulting two girls and touching them inappropriately.

The incidents happened between 7.30pm and 8pm. They did not occur inside stores.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incidents and is currently in police custody.

Detective Inspector Kenny Henry said: “I would like to thank the prompt and effective actions of the security guards at the shopping centre who initially responded to reports and worked closely with our officers during enquiries.

“I would like to hear from anyone who was at Fosse Park at around the time of the incidents and believes they could have information which would help us with the investigation.

A spokesperson from Fosse Shopping Park said: “The wellbeing and security of our customers is always our highest priority and our team is continuing to work closely with the authorities to assist their investigation.”
