Christmas Eve shift proves a tough one for two constables

-

NOTORIOUS playwright Anthony Nielsen’s comedy The Lying Kind will hit Hinckley stages next month.

In a play sure to tickle and delight audiences, the joint production between Concordia Theatre and The NTP Studio will run for two days from Saturday February 18 until Sunday February 19.

The Lying Kind is written by Neilson, an infamous Scottish playwright who also penned Stitching.

In this play, Constables Blunt and Gobbel have one last duty to fulfil before they can finish their Christmas Eve shift - telling the couple at number 58 some terrible news.

However, what if the shock is too much for them?

After all, Blunt and Gobbel didn’t join the force in order to ruin peoples’ lives.

In this uproarious comedy, the audience joins the gruesome twosome on their ethical dilemma as they decide whether or not the old couple would be happier not knowing.

Of course, things would be made all the easier still if the two constables were not also stuck in the middle of a full-scale village lynch-mob…

Tickets to the showings cost just £6.50 and can be purchased by calling Joanne Holy on 07799 552230 or by emailing joanne.holt@live.co.uk
