Gateway to get youngsters on career path

-

YOUNGSTERS struggling to find a job are invited to sign up to a new careers education service in the borough.

Social enterprise scheme Aspiro has launched the service for young people aged between 16 and 24 in Hinckley and Bosworth, which will be partly funded by the European Social Fund.

Aspiro works to support those who face disadvantages when finding work, including those with health problems, and often works alongside the NHS.

Referral routes are available for services in contact with young people.

Youngsters who are not in education, employment or training are being urged to sign up to the Careers Education Service to help improve their prospects.

Aspiro will be running groups to build self-confidence, motivation and employability skills to help young people get on the job ladder.

Caseworkers will have one-toone meetings with young people and give them the guidance needed to move forward in finding work or learning opportunities.

The new service holds a free employment clinic at The Pathways Centre, behind Hinckley Baptist Church, on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in March.

From April 3, the meetings will be held at the new Hinckley Aspiro office at Vision House, 119 Factory Road.

The new office at Vision House will feature a fully stocked resource centre, enabling customers to access self-development tools and perform regular search for jobs, apprenticeships and other learning and work experience opportunities.
