Views sought on future of surgery services

-

HEALTH bosses are keen to hear from patients at Hinckley’s Centre Surgery as they work to secure its long-term future.

A new team of GPs are now operating from the complex off Hill Street following the departure of family physicians Dr Solanki and Dr Bagga who decided not to renew their contract to provide services.

Members of Hinckley and Bosworth Medical Alliance are managing caseloads for the time being but the arrangement is only temporary.

The 5,000 or so patients at the popular practice have received letters reassuring them of a continuation of services but their views are also being sought as a permanent solution is considered.

Local healthcare planning and purchasing body, the West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), has already started work on how services will be provided once the year-long contract with the Alliance comes to an end.

While reassuring patients it remains business as usual for the months to come, a spokesman said a longer term view was being progressed.

The spokesman added: “We are now keen to talk to patients about what matters most to them and we will be consulting with patients and stakeholders to understand their experiences and needs which will influence the services provided in the future.”
