Stamper two for two as good form continues
AFTER waiting three years to take his maiden victory at the first round of the British Superbikes at Donington Park a few weeks ago, Barwell’s Dan Stamper (22) continued his winning form at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend.
Dan showed great pace throughout all his practice sessions and qualifying, finishing second in all, less than 0.1 seconds from top.
Starting second on the grid for Monday’s race, the Leicestershire lad quickly got away with pole man Tom Oliver.
After only three laps, Dan took the lead, a position from which his dominated the race pace and brought his Yamaha home 0.7 seconds clear over the 22-lap race.
Once the podium celebrations had ended, a more relaxed Dan said: “I’m really pleased to take two wins in two.
“This puts me 19 points clear in the championship after only two rounds”
“There is a long way to go but at the moment I’m feeling great on the bike and the team is working perfectly.
“We are just going to take it one race at a time and focus on each individual weekend”.
Dan and his Barwell-based team are back in action over the May Bank Holiday at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
