Toothbrush exchange

-

A TOOTHBRUSH exchange week is being organised by Mount Road Dental Practice this June, as part of a series of events to celebrate National Smile Month which is on until June 15.

The event, starting on June 5, appeals to the public to bring their old tooth brush and replace it for a free new one. It aims to raise oral health awareness in the local community and encourage registration with a dentist.

Dr Ruby Mahal and Dr Jairaj Dhaliwal from JDRM Dental Care said: “We love taking part in National Smile Month. That is why we are holding a Toothbrush Exchange.

“If you are a patient or simply want to talk to a member of staff about your oral health, pop down. It’s going to be a lot of fun!

“Good oral health is vital for a healthy smile as well as a healthy body, and we’ll be spreading that message at our Toothbrush Exchange.”

To celebrate National Smile Month, the practice also organises a series of events endorsing good dental habits such as quizzes and school talks.

Chief executive of the Oral Health Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter said: “I’m delighted that JDRM Dental Care has joined the thousands of organisations in engaging with National Smile Month. It is a great reflection of community spirit and an excellent way to promote good oral health.

“We hope the Toothbrush Exchange will inspire more people to join in the fun than ever before while delivering the Oral Health Foundation’s three key messages for good oral health; brush for two minutes twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks and visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.”
