Call on Hinckley representative to speak to voter about NHS funds
I am disappointed to see that Mr Tredinnick has failed to respond to my previous letter in this publication regarding funding NHS staff.
Three weeks ago I called on him to respond to my calls for more funding of medical staff after the opening of a brand-spanking new A&E facility, complete with mod cons at Leicester Royal Infirmary. While cash had been spent on the centre, pictures showed no staff inside, probably because there wasn’t any more cash.
Either Mr Tredinnick doesn’t think much of the NHS, much of The Hinckley Times, or much of Hinckley. I think the answer is all three.
His voting record on health issues speaks for itself, he clearly doesn’t read the letters page, and I have yet to hear him making any visit to Hinckley in his election campaign. Does he even have a campaign or does he think he doesn’t have to and he’ll just get voted in again?
It’s like people in Hinckley are living in a rotten borough.
I’m not sure we have representation - he’s a man who doesn’t actually live in the borough, but lives in Sussex.
He’s spent the last 30-odd years sat comfortably in his seat with a massive majority, despite getting embroiled in two scandals - the first, in 1994, when he resigned his post as parliamentary private secretary for abusing parliamentary privilege; the second for trying claiming expenses for an intimate relationships course.
Don’t believe me? Look it up on Wikipedia, search his name on Google, it’s all on the internet.
Couple this with the depressing fact the good people of Hinckley continue to vote for someone with “lunatic” beliefs and I find his arrogance towards the electorate disgusting.
Maybe, Mr Tredinnick, I’m wrong and your are campaigning, if so, then prove me wrong and provide me details through this newspaper.
And when you do, answer this question: will you support the funding of extra doctors and nurses to treat seriously ill patients when they arrive at accident and emergency? And will you protect Hinckley’s hospitals if you were voted in again?
I look forward to your response.
