Swan Lake coming to De Montfort Hall
THE world-class Russian State Ballet of Siberia will perform the great Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake at De Montfort in March 2018.
The haunting production will tell the romantic story of the Swan Queen, Odette, falling in love with The Prince, while cast under the spell of Von Rothbart- the evil magician who by day turns the Swan Queen and her friends into swans- forced to swim on a lake of tears.
With technically challenging choreography, ballerinas capture the emotional journey of the two falling in love and having their romance forbidden.
Swan Lake has been performed by countless ballet companies across the world. A hundred years after it was first composed by Tchaikovsky, it is still deemed as one of the greatest ballets of all time.
The Russian State Ballet of Siberia can promise perfection while dancing to Swan Lake, also originating from Russia.
Accompanying them will be The Orchestra of the Russian Ballet.
Artistic Director of the show, Sergei Bobrov, has won many awards for his work including ‘The IX International ballet and choreography competition in Moscow (2001) and The Interregional choreography competition (1991).
His talents and recognition in the ballet industry can be shown throughout The Russian Ballet of Siberia’s tour across the UK.
The ballet will only be in De Montfort Hall on March 3, 2018. The two performances will begin at 14:30 and 19:30.
Tickets are priced at £20, £33 and £39.50. Concessions at £18, £31 and £37.50.
