A NEW Sunday market will give shoppers a chance to get their hands on hand-crafted and locally grown produce.

Launching on April 8, Sunday Munch stalls will be set up in Market Place between 10am and 2pm.

It will be managed by East Midlands Markets and Events (EMME) in partnership with Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and will replace the traditional Farmers’ Market.

Sunday Munch will support a mix of local food and drink producers, artists, craftspeople and local community groups.

In addition there will be stalls for recycled goods ie upcycled furniture, vintage, retro and collectables alongside street food stalls making it an ideal place to browse on a lazy Sunday.

Sallie Hooper from EMME said: “We want the local community to help us to develop a market which supports everything that is good in and around Hinckley, not only a place to buy unique products but to find out about local initiatives and get involved.”

Cllr Maureen Cook, executive member for culture and leisure at the borough council said: “This is a new and exciting venture which I hope local people will support.

“We hope the mix of stalls will prove to be popular and people from throughout the borough will support the venture.

“As our regular market has proved to be so popular, helping the town to win Best Market Town in our local tourism awards I am sure this new format of market on a Sunday can only benefit the locality as a whole.”

The market will be run on the second Sunday of each month from April to July and September to November.

During the weekend 11 and 12 August the borough council’s food festival ‘Feast Hinckley’ will be running.
